About the project
Filmder is an Android app that settles movie night with a swipe. Instead of scrolling a catalog for half an hour, you get a deck of cards: right for yes, left for no — and in a couple of minutes the film is picked.
You can set the mood first — vibe, era, how much time you have — or skip straight to swiping. Solo mode settles it after three likes in a row, with a stronger gesture when a movie hooks you from frame one. Together mode opens a room by short code for up to ten people: everyone swipes their own deck, and the first card liked by all is the answer; if there is no match yet, a quick vote finishes it.
The catalog holds over a million movie cards, the interface is available in 18 languages including Arabic, and there are no ads, trackers or subscriptions. Filmder is free, needs no sign-up, and installs from an APK or via the Google Play alpha while the public store listing is still on the way. Movie data comes from TMDB.
